10/28/2024 Update:
Raider is still in a tough spot. Despite ongoing treatment, his kidney levels remain dangerously high, and he’s not properly filtering toxins in his urine. He needs intensive supportive care and is receiving 100 mL of subcutaneous fluids twice a day, along with supportive antibiotics. Through it all, he purrs when we give him his fluids and shows an incredible will to live. It breaks our hearts to see him like this.
Raiders Story
If you've visited Catpurrccinos Cat Café recently, chances are you've met Raider! Raider is a gentle and loving 2-year-old boy who’s had a rough start to life, but he’s never stopped showering everyone he meets with love.
We found Raider as a malnourished kitten in need of urgent care, including surgery to remove one of his eyes, leaving him with limited vision in the other. Despite his challenges, Raider has always been a fan favorite—his soft fur and sweet nature make him irresistible.
Unfortunately, last week we noticed something was wrong. Raider became lethargic, had nasal discharge, and lost weight. We rushed him to our vet, where blood tests revealed his kidney values were dangerously high, indicating pre-kidney failure. Raider was immediately taken to a 24-hour emergency hospital for ultrasounds, X-rays, and IV therapy. After three days of intensive care, he’s now in a foster home receiving subcutaneous fluids twice a day. At just two years old, our vet believed Raider was too young to give up on—and we wholeheartedly agree.
